Prevention 5 is a relational prevention framework designed to surround one young person with four consistent sources of support for a defined period of time.
The fifth “participant” is the youth themselves.

Rather than focusing on behavior change, Prevention 5 is grounded in the belief that many challenging behaviors are responses to what has been missing — dignity, safety, stability, support, and belonging. This approach works by providing those conditions intentionally and consistently, allowing healthier behaviors to emerge naturally as a byproduct.

For 90 days, four identified adults or roles remain constant and engaged, each contributing to the youth’s relational, occupation, social, and emotions world. Each role is given dedicated time and attention, with a shared commitment to presence, coordination, and alignment. On the fifth day, the group comes together to reinforce connection, shared understanding, and continuity of care.

Prevention 5 is not a corrective model.
It is a preventative, dignity-centered approach that strengthens the relational environment around a youth so that maladaptive behaviors no longer need to serve a purpose.
